Elder Gervasios (Paraskevopoulos) of Patras
Father Gervasios Paraskevopoulos was an exceptional ecclesiastical personality. I met him in 1942 when for a certain time he remained in Argolis near the ever-memorable Metropolitan John. I discerned that he had a childlike soul, although he was relentless in reproving sin, no matter where he encountered it, especially in clergymen, since he had previously warred victoriously against his own sins. As I have personally perceived in Patras, they did regard and and still do regard him as a saint. This is because very many souls came to know Christ through him and were nourished for decades by him in the life in Christ.
