We Shall See Him as He Is
Archimandrite Sophrony (Sakharov) (23 September 1896, Moscow – 11 July 1993, Tolleshunt Knights), also Elder Sophrony, was best known as the disciple and biographer of St Silouan the Athonite and compiler of St Silouan’s works, and as the founder of the Patriarchal Stavropegic Monastery of St. John the Baptist in Tolleshunt Knights, Maldon, Essex, England.
In the present book I will describe some of the experiences that have been given to me. My way and my experiences may not be common to most of the people who read this book. And yet, their significance has revealed to me the tragical situation of millions of people from the face of the Earth. I can’t exclude the possibility that my confession, or my spiritual autobiography, may offer at least some of these people the right solution to their overwhelming troubles. (Archimandrite Sophrony)
