The Victory of the Cross

Staniloae understands creation of as a gift of God to humans (his image bearers). This giftof time and space is created for movement toward love. In other words, the gift revealsand expresses God’s love for humans. But the gift is not to be confused with the actuallove which is in the person of God. He writes, “The destiny of this gift is to unite manwith God who has given it.” The gift must be transcended to the love (or morespecifically to the lover).
